Sonnen Batterie – Be among the first in Ireland!

After the Energy Show we have had some customers wishing to be among the first to install a storage system in Ireland.

Those who place an order before June 10th will do so at a discounted price. Their order will be in the first batch of products delivered in July.

A team from Sonnen HQ will assist the Solar Electric team with their installation and our normal high-level of support and back-up will be provided.

Come back to us on marketing@solarelectric.ie if you can move quickly.

Awards for Solar Storage

We are delighted to announce that we have secured the distribution rights for sonnenBatterie in Ireland.

Sonnen are the market leader in Germany and have had great success in the U.S. in 2015. This year they are starting out in the U.K. and Irish market and we have been chosen as a suitably qualified partner.

The eco 8 will be launched in May, In our opinion it is the best and most fully developed storage solution on the market. Correctly sized it will cut your purchase of day rate electricity to the absolute minimum and it has the option of a fail-safe power supply should you experience a power outage. https://www.sonnenbatterie.de/en-gb/sonnenbatterie

On Wednesday the product won Innovative Product Award and Overall Product Award – best product of the show, at the SEAI Energy Show in Dublin. This is a great indictment of the sonnen system, which delivers on SEAI objectives towards energy efficiency.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MWPqtSL4EY

O’Shea Farms Open Day

We are trying to book a day in early June – maybe Wednesday June 1st.

Please use our enquiry form or e.mal info@solarelectric.ie if you are interested in attending.

The agenda will include a case study on the project and a look at the benefits of “auto-generation” for building owners in Ireland. See the live data from O’Shea Farms on the projects page.

2-day Response to Part L “emergency”

From the initial enquiry at noon on the 17th to installation completion at 4 p.m. on the 19th, Solar Electric “pulled out all the stops” to help a local builder with a 10 panel detached house project near the River Barrow.

We can’t promise such a quick response time in ever case but, if necessary we will try. We always hold stock of solar electric panels, mounting systems and electrical components to complete the project.

Solar Gains in Ireland’s Cooley Mountains

One of Solar Electric’s super efficient 6kWp Systems in the Cooley Mountains near Dundalk Co.Louth

The piece below was posted to our Facebook page by a very happy customer…..proof if needed that Solar Photovoltaic systems work really well in Ireland, the myth that they need bright sunshine is exactly that, a myth… our panels generate their electricity from daylight.

“Exactly one year ago Solar Electric installed a 6,000kw system. All the way up here in the North East a year later, it has achieved 99.9% efficiency of 5,998.4 kwH’s. Plenty of light and sun up here, would you believe! We used 77% of it (worth about 820 euro) directly for our domestic electrical, water heating and underfloor heating needs and we’ve proved it works excellently with geothermal heating at a constant 19 degrees celcius and constant hot water of 50 degrees. 23% of the generated electricity was sold back to Electric Ireland. — at The Cooley Mountains.”

This system was forecasted to produce 5,484kWh or units of electricity a year.

The project was commissioned on 24th of June 2014 and on the 24th of June 2015, its first anniversary it had produced 5,998.4kWh’s, that’s a massive 99.9% efficiency and an increase of 9.5% on what we forecast!

Need we say more? Have a look at your last electricity bill- it should tell you how many units you used last year, this and a few other details are all we need to design one of our efficient Solar PV systems especially for you, so you too can produce and make use of your own electricity- click here to contact us and find out what size system would work best for you.

Report says, “Solar Energy is Perfect for Dublin “

Solar energy is perfect for Dublin and it quickly pays for itself- Irish Independent 15/02/2015

Investing in solar energy production can pay for itself in just seven to 13 years, a new report published by Dublin City Council has revealed

The IBM Smarter Cities Challenge report concludes that Dublin is a good location to produce solar energy because of the amount of daylight the city enjoys. But the report says that solar power can deliver on its potential only if it benefits from the same incentives that have helped other renewable energy sources in Ireland.

The report says that as solar power can be produced and used in the same location it increases our energy security. “Solar can play an important role in helping Ireland meet an EU requirement to provide 16pc of energy from renewable sources by 2020,” it says.

To mark the publication of the first comprehensive study of solar energy production and its use in the capital, the city council will install solar panels on the Civic Offices on Wood Quay and four public library buildings in 2015.

We in Solar Electric didn’t really need to read this, we have always know that Solar PV is ideally suited to Ireland and that economically and environmentally it ticks all the boxes, contact us to increase your energy security too.
